DoomPet

Privacy policy

Effective 5 November 2026

This policy covers the DoomPet app for Android and this website. "We" means DoomPet. It says what the app reads, what stays on your phone, what leaves it, and how long we keep it.

The short version

What stays on your phone

These live only on your phone. They are never sent to us.

DoomPet turns off Android's app backup, so none of this is copied to your Google backup.

How DoomPet spots reels

DoomPet uses Android's Accessibility service, which you switch on yourself. This is how it knows when you move to a new reel.

App limits

If you set an app limit:

If you don't set an app limit, DoomPet doesn't read your app usage.

Our AI

Our AI makes a scene for you from your words or a photo. It's optional, and it needs you to sign in with Google.

What is sent

Where it goes

It goes to our server, which runs on Google's Firebase. Our server sends your words and photo to OpenAI. OpenAI checks them for content that isn't allowed, plans the scene and draws its pictures. Each picture it makes is checked too.

With each request, we give OpenAI a scrambled form of your account ID, which can't be turned back into it. OpenAI uses it to spot abuse. We never send OpenAI your name or email address. OpenAI handles what we send under its own policies.

How long we keep it

Our server's logs record what went wrong with a job. They never hold your words or pictures.

When something isn't allowed

If your words, your photo or a made picture is flagged, the scene isn't made. We note a strike on your account. A refusal for violence alone gives no strike, because in DoomPet the pet always gets hit. After 5 strikes, Our AI is paused for your account, and we look at it by hand.

Reporting a scene

You can report a scene Our AI made with the flag on its page. We save your reason, which scene it is and the account that made it, and we may look at the scene's words and pictures while they're still on our server. The report is deleted 30 days after you send it, or when you delete your account.

Signing in with Google

You only need to sign in for Our AI and credits. The rest of DoomPet works without an account.

Signing out doesn't delete your account. See Deleting your data.

Buying credits

Notifications

If you allow notifications, DoomPet tells you when your scene is ready or couldn't be made. It uses Firebase Cloud Messaging, which gives your phone a push token. We save that token with your account so we know where to send the message. The message holds only the scene's ID and whether it finished.

Checking it's the real app

When the app talks to our server, Firebase App Check uses Google Play Integrity to confirm the request comes from the real DoomPet app on a real Android phone. Google does this check. Our server only sees whether it passed.

Crash reports and statistics

Crash reports

If the app crashes, it sends a report to Firebase Crashlytics. The report says what went wrong in the code, and gives your phone model, Android version, app version and a random ID for this install. We add nothing of our own to it: no reel counts, no scene names, no account ID.

Usage statistics

DoomPet includes Google Analytics for Firebase. We don't log any events of our own. Analytics records some things by itself, such as:

None of it includes reel counts, what you watch, your app times, your words or your photos, and we don't link it to your account. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

Measuring our ads

We advertise DoomPet on Instagram and Facebook. To learn which ads bring people who use the app, DoomPet includes Meta's app SDK. It sends Meta:

Meta uses this to tell us how our ads did and to show them to people more likely to use the app. Meta's own privacy policy covers what it does with it. It holds no reel counts, what you watch, your app times, your words or your photos, and we don't link it to your account. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

Sharing scenes

When you share a scene, DoomPet makes a .doompet file and hands it to the app you pick. It goes only where you send it. The file holds the scene's pictures, its name and how it plays. For an Our AI scene, it also holds the words you made it from, and pictures made from your photo may look like it.

When you import a scene, you pick the file and see every picture before it's installed. It stays on your phone.

When you share your pet's obituary, DoomPet makes a picture with today's reel count and the apps the reels came from, and hands it to the app you pick. It goes only where you send it.

Your AI and the clipboard

Your AI copies DoomPet's prompt so you can paste it into an AI app you already use. What you send to that app is covered by its own privacy policy, not this one.

DoomPet reads your clipboard only when you tap Paste: the text your AI wrote, or a picture. The text and the pictures you paste, share to DoomPet or pick from your gallery are made into a scene on your phone. They are not sent to us.

What we don't do

Who handles your data

Children

DoomPet isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child under 13 has signed in to DoomPet, write to us and we'll delete the account.

Deleting your data

On your phone

Uninstalling DoomPet removes everything it stored on your phone. So does clearing its storage in Android's settings. Deleting a scene in the app removes it, and the photo kept for it.

Deleting your account keeps your scenes on your phone, but Our AI scenes can't be fixed any more, and their kept photos are deleted.

On our server

Our AI photos go by themselves after 7 days, and the rest of each scene after 30.

To delete your account, open DoomPet and go to Settings, then Account and credits, then Delete account. It deletes your sign-in, credit balance, push token, strikes, reports and any scenes still on our server at once, and signs you out. A scene still being made stops. Unused credits are lost. We keep purchase records as our record of sales.

Crash reports and usage statistics aren't linked to your name or account.
